Dikayl Rimmasch began his career at the age of 17 as an architectural illustrator, gradually movingto specialize in silk screen design, illustration and poster art. At Ralph Lauren in New York, where he worked freelance for almost a decade, he designed print for Polo sport, Rugby, and most importantly Double RL as the chief packaging designer and store development illustrator. Having intermittently explored photography and film in modern dance and contemporary ballet throughout this period, Dikayl was asked to create the first advertising campaigns for Double RL as well as its special films created directly under Ralph Lauren and the brand director Spencer Birch. Seeking out Les Blank in San Fransisco and pursuing specifically early American cinema verité in the styles of Leacock and Pennebaker, Dikayl built a body of work that eventually attracted Beyonce and Jay Z to hire Dikayl for their 2015 On the Run tour creating the visual DNA for the tour promotions as well as featured tour content films. Since then Dikayl has been trusted with such brands as Air Jordan, Adele, Lenny Kravitz, Vidal Sassoon, Big Bang, El Michels Affair, and Blondie, for whom he re-established their iconic New York punk scene roots for their comeback album “Pollinator.” He was also a contributing director on LEMONADE winning him an MTV best director award for long form as well as a Peabody award.
